The Fitness Center, located on the lower level of the Parks & Recreation Center, 200 North Franklin Street, is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Cost: $30 for six months for City residents; $60 for six months for non-City residents. Senior Citizens who are City residents receive a 10% discount. Visitors are welcome but must first report to the main office on the upper level. Ask for Ginnie Williams during the business hours of 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
An AARP Tax Assistant will be available on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Senior Center for senior citizens needing tax assistance. Time is available on Saturdays by appointment only until April 14. Contact the Senior Center at 349-1088 for more details.

Any senior citizen wanting to participate in the Rockingham County Senior Games needs to fill out an application before 5 p.m. today and return it to the Reidsville Senior Center at 201 N. Washington Avenue The countywide Senior Games are slated for May 4-13.

The Reidsville Police Department will provide an information table between 10 a.m. and noon at the Healthy Kids Day planned at the Reidsville YMCA.
April 4
John Pitzen, Rockingham County delegate to the North Carolina Senior Tar Heel Legislature, will speak on a variety of issues facing senior citizens at 10:30 a.m. at the Reidsville Senior Center, 201 N. Washington Avenue. The Senior Tar Heel Legislature is a legislative body created by the NC General Assembly in 1993 to report and make recommendations to the General Assembly.
Girls 8-11 Basketball League & Girls 12-15 Superteen tournaments begin today.
The Wentworth Street Area Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. on the second floor training room of the Reidsville Police Department, 220 W. Morehead Street.
April 5
Championship games are slated for the Girls 8-11 Basketball League and the Girls 12-15 Superteen Basketball League. The Girls 8-11 League meets at Reidsville Middle School on South Park Drive while the Superteen League plays at the Rec Gymnasium, 200 N. Franklin Street.
April 6
A Bocce Clinic will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Reidsville Senior Center, 201 N. Washington Avenue. Instructor Thad Shermer will talk about the rules and strategy of one of the fastest growing events in the Senior Games. The Center will also be sponsoring a Bocce League this spring and summer.
The Fire Department will participate in Career Day at South End School.
April 7
The "Week of the Young Child" parade will travel from the Reidsville YMCA on Main Street to the Reidsville Public Library on Morehead Street between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
At 11:30 a.m., a Caregivers Class will be taught at the Reidsville Senior Center, 201 N. Washington Avenue, by Deborah Maryland.
"Grandparents Raising Grandchildren" will be offered at the Reidsville Senior Center, 201 N. Washington Avenue, at 11:45 a.m.

The MS Walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Penn House located at 324 Maple Avenue.
The Downtown Spring Open House, sponsored by the Reidsville Downtown Corporation, will continue on Saturday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Reidsville Fire Department will participate in a Safety Program at the Reidsville YMCA.

"Bluegrass on the Lawn" will be held at the Penn House, 324 Maple Avenue, from 2-5 p.m. The band, "Cuttin Grass," will be the opening act for "The Misty Valley Boys." The event is free and open to the public, but visitors need to bring a lawn chair or blanket. "The Misty Valley Boys" are known for their Piedmont style bluegrass, which features smooth three- and four-part harmonies and appeals equally to R&B fans. Opening act "Cuttin Grass" features traditional and contemporary bluegrass. For more information, call The Penn House at 349-1099.

The West End/Historical District Neighborhood Watch will meet at 7 p.m. at The Penn House, 324 Maple Avenue.

The Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 230 W. Morehead Street.

The 8-10 Mustang Baseball Season begins at Booster ballfield located off Moss Street. Games are planned at 5:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
