Friday, May 9

5:45 – Kiwanis Club vs. Firefighters

7:30 – Cook’s Red Sox vs. Lions Club

Wednesday (May 7)

     The Mudcats rolled to a 15-5 win over the Home Savings Grasshoppers in a Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League game played Wednesday at Lowes Park.

     In the other Minor League game, the Cook’s Sports Red Sox whipped the Reds 17-1.

     Tyler Minter had three hits for the Mudcats, Ronte Hayes and Bryce Ore had two apiece and Kyler Whicker, Nich Shelton, and Hunter Blackburn added one each.

     Patrick Bailey had two hits for the Grasshoppers and Dawson Ellington, Cody Ward, and Zach Bullard had one.

 

Cook’s Red Sox 17

Reds 1

     Angel Zarate had two hits for the Red Sox and Dylan Plainte, Jay Zarate, Ben Langley, and Josh Johnson had one each.

     Conner Underwood, Carter Anderson, and Greg Davis had one hit each for the Reds.

Wednesday (April 30)

     The Kiwanis Yankees blanked the Home Savings Bank Grasshoppers 5-0 in a Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League game Wednesday at Lowes Park.

     The win also decided the league’s preseason tournament, which was rained out two weeks ago.

     In the other Minor League game, the Reds edged the Lions Club 10-7.

Home Savings 0

     James Duggins struck out 14 batters to lead the Yankees.

Will Stanley led the winners offensively with two hits while Duggins, Cameron Paschal, Zeb Murray, and Noah Hall had one apiece.

     Cody Ward had a hit for the Grasshoppers.

Reds 10

Braves 7

     The Reds scored five runs in the fourth inning to pull out the win.

     Jacob Vaughn, Aaron Durham, and Gregrey Davis had two hits each for the Reds and Carter Anderson, Hayden Anderson, Noah Johnson, and Ross Johnson had one apiece.

     Niegel Kelly, Austin Booker, Grayson Cundiff, and Bryson Goins had one hit each for the Lions Club Braves.

Friday (April 25)

     The Cook's Sports Red Sox held on for a 7-6 win over the Home Savings Bank Grasshoppers Friday night in a Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League game at Lowes Park.

     In the other Minor game, the Blue Sky Realty Cardinals downed the Kiwanis Club Yankees 11-3.

     Cook's Sports jumped out to a 7-0 lead only to see Home Savings rally for six runs in the third.

     Josh Johnson had two hits for the Sox and Dylan Plainte, Angel Zarate, and Jay Zarate had one apiece.

     Cody Ward, Zach Bullard, Patrick Bailey, Cody Carter, and Zach Wilson  had one hit apiece for the Hoppers.

Blue Sky 11

     Jack Phillips and Hunter French had two hits each for the Cardinals and Brittian Huffstetler, CeJay Chaparro, Jacob Anders, and Brandon Spencer had one apiece.

     Will Stanley, Tommy Cuozzi, Zeb Murray, Nicholas Richmond, and Noah Hall had one hit each for the Yankees.

 

Wednesday (April 23)

     In Minor league action Wednesday night, the Home Savings Bank Grasshoppers edged the Blue Sky Realty Cardinals 6-5 and the Reidsville Firefighters Association Orioles beat the Reds 6-4.

     The Grasshoppers scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to rally for the win.

     Cody Ward, Patrick Bailey, and Ryan Kelly had hits for Home Savings.

     CeJay Chaparro, Hunter French, Jordan Wilson, and Jalen Foster had hits for the Cardinals.

Orioles 6

Reds 4

     The Firefighters scored five runs in the first inning.

      Landon Warner and Jakel Pass had one hit each for the O’s.

     Hayden Anderson, Seth Williams, and Ryan Madren had hits for the Reds.

Tuesday (April 22)

     Jay Zarate homered and pitched a no-hitter to lead the Cook’s Sports Red Sox to a 9-0 win over the Kiwanis Club Yankees in a season-opening Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League game Tuesday night at Lowes Park.

     In the other Minor League game, the Mudcats rallied for an 8-5 win over the Lions Club Braves.

     Zarate homered among his two hits and struck out 17 batters in his no-hit effort.

     Josh Johnson had three hits for the winners while Zarate, Dylan Plainte, and Ben Langley had two each and Angel Zarate had one.

Mudcats 8

Lions Club 5

     The Mudcats scored six runs in the fourth inning and won the game without benefit of a hit.

     Tyler Minter was the winning pitcher.

     Orion Webster, Isaac Childrey, and Ben Rorrer had hits for the Braves.

 

Preseason Tournament

Thursday Night (April 17) Action

     The Cook’s Sports Red Sox and the Home Savings Bank Grasshoppers advanced with wins Thursday night in the Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department Minor League preseason tournament at Lowes Park.

     The Red Sox downed Blue Sky Realty 14-7 and the Grasshoppers outlasted the Mudcats 16-7.

     Dylan Plainte, Jay Zarate (HR), and Angel Zarate had three hits to lead Cook’s while Josh Johnson, Ben Langley, Will Strader, and Keith Martin had one apiece.

     Brandon Spencer had two hits for Blue Sky while Hunter French and Jacob Anders had one each.

Mudcats 7

     The Grasshoppers scored nine runs in the fifth inning to break open a close game.

     Cody Carter and Dawson Ellington had two hits each for Home Savings and Cody Ward, Zach Bullard, Patrick Bailey, Jared Stevens, and Zach Wilson had one apiece.

     Daron Lane had a hit for the Mudcats.

Wednesday Night (April 16) Action

     The Kiwanis Yankees defeated the Reds 6-4 in a Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League preseason tournament game Wednesday at Lowes Park.

     In the other game, the Reidsville Firefighters Association Orioles beat the Lions Club Braves 14-2.

     Zeb Murray, Nicholas Richmond, Brian Land, Noah Hall, and Austin Hall all had one hit for Kiwanis.

     The Firefighters scored 10 runs in the first inning.

     Landon Warner and Chandler Singleton had two hits each for the O’s and Keion Carter, Josh Shelton, Jonathan Pulliam, and Travis Presnell had one apiece.

     Jared Hutchins and Ben Rorrer had two hits each for the Lions Club and Isaac Childrey had one.

 

Tuesday Night (April 15) Action

     The Home Savings Bank Grasshoppers and the Mudcats won opening round games in the Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department’s Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League preseason tournament Tuesday at Lowes Park.

     The Grasshoppers blanked the Firefighters Association Orioles 15-0 and the Mudcats beat the Lions Club Braves 14-5.

     Dawson Ellington pitched three perfect innings with eight strikeouts and homered at the plate to lead the Grasshoppers.

     Zach Wilson added two hits for Home Savings Bank and Ellington, Cody Ward, Zach Bullard, Cody Carter, and Jared Stephens had one apiece.

Mudcats 14

Lions Club 5

     The Mudcats led 9-0 after two innings.

     Kyler Whicker, Ronte Hayes, Tyler Minter, DaRon Lane, and Isaiah Hayes had two hits each for the Mudcats and Jordan Richards, Nicolas Shelton, Bryce Ore, Sierra Todd, Hunter Blackburn, and Caleb Canudy had one apiece.

     Isaac Childrey had two hits for the Lions Club and Niegel Kelly, Sam Thorn, and Jared Hutchins had one apiece.

 

Monday Night (April 14) Action

     In the Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League preseason tournament on Booster Field, the Cook’s Sports Red Sox downed the Kiwanis Yankees 9-1 and the Blue Sky Realty Cardinals beat the Reds 6-1.

     The Cardinals scored two runs in the third and two in the fourth to escape with the win.

     CeJay Chaparro, Hunter French, Jalen Foster, Jacob Anders, and Nick Edwards had one hit each for Blue Sky.
